Jen Owen is a compassionate and determined provider. She is knowledgeable and skillful, while remaining honest and down-to-earth. Jen does not give up easily and will persevere until she finds the best care and treatments for each person she works with. She is loyal, forthright, and open-minded.

Jen began studying natural medicine in 1992. If you would like to see the whole story, click here to view her Curriculum Vitae. She has completed numerous courses in Herbal Medicine and holds a certificate as a Nutrition Consultant. She became a licensed medical provider, because she feels it is important to offer “the best of both worlds”. She sees herself as a bridge between conventional care and natural medicine. Her specialty is creating tailored individual plans for each client she works with.

As a RN, Jen worked with indigent populations in a local, free clinic. During her graduate work to become a Nurse Practitioner, Jen did rotations in Women’s Health, Holistic/Functional Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology, and Primary Care. After receiving her Master of Science in Nursing graduate degree in 2012, she spent 1.5 years working in a Holistic Medicine clinic in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jen then worked at a free family planning clinic for one year, where she did thousands of annual exams and pap smears, STI testing and treatments, and birth control management. While doing this work, she opened her own Integrative Medicine clinic in Bloomington, Indiana and grew that practice to over 600 patients in 4 years. In her practice she treated both men and women for conditions such as GI disturbance, thyroid and hormone imbalances, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes and insulin resistance, and nutritional imbalances. Jen continues to provide online consulting for all of these situations and more.

Jen moved to Portland in the fall of 2017 and opened Bloom Pelvic Therapies in February of 2018. As a Nurse Practitioner, she has full licensing to diagnose conditions, order testing, such as blood tests and ultrasounds, and to order prescription medications when necessary. Her mission at the clinic is to bring true healing to women, so they can flourish in their relationships, enjoy their sexual experiences, and have the energy to do everything they want to do.

Jen offers Business Consulting and online programs for other healthcare providers who dream of opening small, independent Integrative Medicine clinics. She feels strongly that this type of care benefits patients in profound ways. She knows that as more great providers get to spend more time with patients and offer the alternative treatments so many are looking for, more people are served for the greatest good!
